KITCHEN SUPERVISOR

Daytime hours with 4pm finish, 30hrs over 5 day working week with 2 days off - normally Friday & Saturday. The job has the potential for a great work/home life balance & the opportunity for additional hours if wanted.

We are looking for a dynamic & self-motivated Kitchen Supervisor to lead a small team and help us to achieve the vision of our business. You will have passion for cooking & be able to deliver wonderful dishes maintaining quick service & consistent quality while supervising the daily back-of-house restaurant operations. You will work closely with the Restaurant Manager & be responsible for multiple tasks in the restaurant including food preparation, maintenance of quality standards, sanitisation & cleanliness, coaching of other kitchen staff, delegating tasks, record keeping, meal presentation, portion & cost control, and other duties associated with running of a busy kitchen. 

Requirements

  • Experience in a similar Kitchen Supervisor/ Experienced Cook role or ready to step up to

  • A passion for producing food to be proud of

  • A motivational team-leader who can make sure our food and hygiene standards are consistently high

  • Excellent skills in a variety of cooking methods, ingredients and equipment

  • Ability to work under pressure and take control during busy times

  • Be able to manage all aspects of the kitchen management, food ordering, labelling etc.

  • Clear communication with your team

  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Restaurant Manager to ensure success of the business

  • A positive attitude and ability to keep your team motivated

  • A desire to develop and retain the kitchen team


Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all food items, products are stored, prepared & served based on the restaurant’s recipe, preparation & portion standards 

  • Ordering kitchen materials and ingredients based on the menu

  • Supervising food preparation in the kitchen and ensuring consistency and customer satisfaction

  • Maintaining clean working environment & making sure that employees follow the restaurant’s preventive maintenance measures 

  • Maintaining adequate inventory levels and conducting weekly inventories

  • Working with Restaurant Manager to create menu items, pricing and establishing portion sizes of each meal

Schedule

  • Permanent role

  • Contracted 30hrs

  • 5 day working week, normally Sunday to Thursday with Friday/Saturday off
